5 Tips on How to Start your Day off Right:
1. Wake up 15 minutes earlier
This might be hard to begin to incorporate into your morning routine but you will thank yourself when you are ready for the day ahead with loads of energy and positivity. Although it is only 15 minutes, you can use that time to have a cuppa and catch up on current affairs. This is a nice transition into your day; you’re not going from sleep to work with no personal time in between. By staying up-to-date with current affairs you are able to have various talking points throughout your day and not be solely focused on work.
2. Complete a Morning Reflection of the Day Ahead
A morning reflection is critical to starting your day off on the right foot. Think about your relationships outside of work. Are there any special events coming up (a concert, restaurant opening) that you could take someone special to? What gestures of love could you show someone today? It could be a simple message at lunch to let someone know you’re thinking of them – set a reminder in your smart phone so you don’t forget! Think about any extracurricular activities your children have. What do your loved ones need from you today?
3. Have a Substantial Breakfast
This is very important! A substantial, healthy breakfast will keep you sustained until morning tea. Healthy, fibrous breakfast will give slow releasing energy that will ensure you remain focused and reduce fatigue, meaning you’ll remember to send that thank you letter or call your loved one for their birthday!
4. Organize your Dinner
I know it can be the furtherest thing from people’s mind in the morning, but take a quick glance at your meal planner and take anything that needs defrosting out so you are prepared when you get home.
5. Ensure you are Looking your Best
You just never know who you will meet that day – it could be a future spouse or business partner! Give yourself enough time in the morning so you’re not rushing your appearance. Shower, wash your hair, put a freshly ironed shirt on, spray some fresh cologne, and polish your shoes. If you are looking and smelling your best you will feel great!
